This one-day program is for principals, assistant principals, superintendents, assistant superintendents, educators working toward an administrative degree or certification, and other educators in a leadership capacity.

Over the course of the day, participants can expect to:
  • Learn a new working definition of leadership
  • Learn how to increase the level of sustainable motivation in the educational organization
  • Build a repertoire of effective leadership strategies for setting an empowering context for staff, students and parents, promoting strong character development in students, and immediately improving the effectiveness of classroom practice.
  • Gain “how to” strategies for supporting QL teachers
  • Discover important distinctions between administration and leadership and apply systems thinking to upgrade the level of effectiveness in the organization.
  • Learn how to increase leadership throughout all levels of the organization
  • Learn important breakthroughs in neuroscience related to effective leadership and classroom best-practice
  • Learn specific strategies for helping teachers diversify their teaching methodology to reach all students including English Language Learners (ELL) and special education students.
  • Develop a blueprint for the immediate implementation of leadership initiatives that will improve the effectiveness of all stakeholders in the organization including staff, students and parents
Lecture, paired sharing, small group discussion and activities, large group sharing, demonstrations, interactive participant pages, reading, writing, and self-assessments are used to teach concepts and provide experience. This event will be our "signature" QLA and will be videotaped and used for a future DVD program.

Quantum Learning addresses your Academy needs with this Illinois Administration Academy course (catalog program #723).

This program guides school administrators, particularly principals and assistant principals, in developing a new definition of leadership designed to stimulate greater leadership capacity and orchestrate sustainable motivation throughout the educational organization using the Quantum Learning System. The goal of this program is to give school administrators new tools for improving leadership through the use of specific initiatives that will upgrade both staff and student motivation and performance.

Professional Development Time: 6.00 hours

Participant Outcomes

Outcome #1: Description
Participants learn and gain strategies for the application of a new working definition of leadership that includes positive modeling, positive motivation, and the implementation of specific school initiatives.
Outcome #1: Demonstrating Gained Knowledge / Skills
Participants apply the new definition of leadership to their specific school assignment and teach these concepts to teaching and administrative staff in a deliberate effort to upgrade leadership throughout their organization.

Outcome #2 Description
Participants learn and can identify specific distinctions between leadership and administration in the educational organization and discover how this relationship can directly influence school improvement in their organization.
Outcome #2 Demonstrating Gained Knowledge / Skills
Participants apply knowledge about the relationship between leadership and administration in describing their own school. Participants teach these important distinctions to members of their own administrative and teaching staff.

Outcome #3 Description
Participants understand the concept of durable or sustainable motivation and know specific systemic and personal leadership initiatives that are effective for raising the level of motivation in the entire educational organization.
Outcome #3 Demonstrating Gained Knowledge / Skills
Participants describe specific initiatives that could be used in their organization to upgrade the level of durable or sustainable motivation in their organization. Participants implement initiatives in their own organizations.

Outcome #4 Description
Participants understand the four leadership connections for improving the effectiveness of an educational organization. These include the context connection, cognitive connection, character connection, and the classroom connection. Participants understand how these connections influence balanced leadership and have a new repertoire of leadership initiatives for each connection. Participants are motivated and excited to apply these leadership initiatives in their own school organization.
Outcome #4 Demonstrating Gained Knowledge / Skills
Participants describe specific leadership initiatives for each of the four leadership connections and describe how they can implement these initiatives in their own organization. Participants implement leadership initiatives in their organization.
